Emergency Appointments

Medical acupuncture is an adaption of the traditional Chinese method. It uses fine needles to stimulate the nerves in the skin and muscle. This increases the blood supply to the area, as well as stimulating a release of endorphin and serotonin, the body’s natural painkillers.

Most patients want to know if acupuncture will hurt. As the needles are so fine most people don’t feel them, however, it is normal to feel a dull ache. While the needles are in place most people feel relaxed and this can continue after they have been removed.

Both Kirsten and Laura are certified in medical acupuncture, and they currently use it alongside chiropractic techniques, taping, or on its own. If you’re interested, but aren’t currently a patient at the practice, give us a call to book a consultation!
